Blue lace agate from the Ysterputs mine in southern Namibia is rare and highly sought after by collectors.
This deposit has been closed for several years, so virtually no material comes out.
What does occasionally appear is being mined on a very small scale by artisanal miners.
Although blue lace agate can be found in a few other African countries, the finest material has always come from Namibia.
This beautifully polished blue lace agate stone has distinctive colour and striking markings.
