Rainbow Fluorite Crystal Points
Rainbow fluorite crystals make wonderful display pieces but they must be well looked after.
Fluorite is a soft and fragile mineral which makes it difficult to cut. It also chips and fractures easily. For this reason it's not unusual for decorative pieces to have minor anomalies or imperfections.
The rainbow fluorite crystals in our collection have all been meticulously chosen. The colours which are best appreciated when stones are illuminated are completely natural.
Most rainbow fluorite that comes from China has been heated which lightens and strengthens the colours. This material is often sold as "candy fluorite".
In our photos the two larger fluorite crystals are quite dark when not being illuminated. The piece on the right is the darker of the two.
The green colour in the two smaller points is far more distinctive than it appears in our photos. It looks less vibrant due illumination from our lights.
Whilst it may be tempting to place fluorite close to a sunny window, UV light can in some material cause colours to fade.
