Labradorite Incredibly Iridescent
So many amazing colours can be seen as this part polished labradorite stone reflects light.
Just the front face has been polished.
This popular variety of feldspar was discovered in 1770. It takes its name from the location where it was discovered. Labrador is the most easterly province of Canada.
The colours we see in labradorite are the reflection of light. The colours are not in the stone itself.
The iridescence which is also known as schiller or labradorescence is best seen as light hit the stone at sharp angles.
A truly spectacular piece of labradorite from our collection of rocks and minerals.
