Rough Lepidolite Mica from Brazil
169 grams of lustrous purplish-pink lepidolite mica. The maximum weight of any one piece is 5 grams. Collectively they make a great display.
Silvery inclusions of mica that resemble glitter shed very easily. For this reason lepidolite mica should be handled as little as possible.
Lepidolite mica is a major source for lithium. Although this chemical element is often believed to be the cause of the purplish-pink colour, it actually comes from impurities of manganese.
When used in crystal healing lepidolite mica is said to have a deeply calming effect on the mind and body. It's soothing, deeply peaceful and may be used to reduce stress and anxiety.
The group of minerals known as mica form in distinctive layers or sheets. Small flakes of mica break away easily. They're used in most cosmetics, skin care products and also body lotions to add shimmer, sparkle or sheen.
A single flake of mica can be seen in our second photo.
Lepidolite mica reflects light from every angle but it's incredibly difficult to capture in a photo.
