Kabamba Jasper Stone

A fantastic, grade-A, beautifully polished Kambaba Jasper stone. The bottom, which is flat, is unpolished.

Despite its size, this fine-grade cabochon is just 0.55mm thick, which is about the same as two credit cards or six sheets of paper.

Kambaba Jasper, which is a trade name is misleading because this stone contains no jasper at all. It's also known as Green Stromatolite Jasper, Kabamba Stone, Crocodile Jasper, and in India where it's mostly cut and polished, Star Galaxy Jasper. 

Kabamba is the area in Madagascar where it's found.
