Rutilated Quartz aka Black Rutile
Two wonderfully unique, rutilated quartz gemstones.
When laid on one of its two flat sides and viewed from the front, these stones resemble the shape of an eye. When turned over, the shape is similar to a slice of watermelon.
The outer or rounded side of the gemstones has been faceted.
These grade-A, rutilated quartz gemstones are colourless and transparent.
Rutilated quartz is a type of included quartz with fine, hair-like crystals of the mineral rutile. These grow in different directions within the quartz over millions of years.
Rutilated quartz with black inclusions is also known as black rutile.
