Natural citrine is relatively rare, especially in fine gemstone-grade material, so it's common for heated amethyst to be sold as citrine.
If done well, gemstones can be beautiful, and this piece is a perfect example.
This citrine gemstone has been cut and polished by hand. It reflects light from every angle, and there's a slight variation in the hue of yellow that can be seen. This common characteristic is a good clue when trying to determine whether a stone is natural citrine or heated amethyst.
The gemstone has been mounted in a handcrafted sterling silver setting that features our own SM hallmark from the London Assay Office.
