Moss Agate Gemstone Pendant
A handcrafted Moss Agate pendant designed in a simple, sterling silver setting.
This translucent cabochon has a distinctive bluish-green colour.
The inclusions in Moss Agate, which resemble organic matter, are, in fact, crystallisation.
Dendrites, as they're correctly known, are crystals with a multi-branching tree-like form. They're similar to the crystals seen on windows during the cold winter months.
Dendritic inclusions in minerals, which are relatively common, are often mistaken for organic matter.
Although well polished, this stone is slightly pitted, which is not unusual for Moss Agate.
The inclusions appear most fascinating when the stone is held up towards the light.
In our first photo, this Moss Agate pendant is illuminated with a bright light.
