Moss Agate Gemstone Pendant
Bluish green coloured moss agate cabochon mounted in sterling silver.
Moss agate is known for having what looks like organic matter within the stone. These inclusions are in fact crystallisation.
Dendrites as they're correctly known are crystals with a multi-branching tree-like form. They're kind of like the crystals present on windows during the cold winter months.
Dendritic inclusions in minerals are relatively common and are often mistaken for organic matter.
The surface of this moss agate stone is slightly pitted which is not unusual. As with any translucent gemstone, it's most fascinating when lit up from behind.
In our first photo the pendant is being illuminated with a bright light.
