Agate is a variety of quartz but more specifically, a type of chalcedony distinguished by its colour and banded structure.
Banded agate is one of many different varieties of agate, but it’s probably the easiest to recognise.
Although agate stones often occur in shades of black, grey, red, or brown, they can also be exceptionally colourful.
These grade A agate stones have been beautifully polished, which makes them incredibly tactile.
