Black Tigers Eye Crystals Extra Large
The colour of black tigers eye is produced by heating the brown and yellow-coloured variety of tigers eye. Heat changes the mineral's chemical composition, initiating a change in colour.
Heat treatments are widely used to enhance or change the colour of rocks and minerals. This practice, which has been used for thousands of years, was first documented by Ancient Greek philosopher Theophrastus.
These black tigers eye tumbled stones are classed as grade B because they have only been lightly tumbled. Therefore, they have a slightly more rugged, or natural appearance.
No two stones are the same, and the few pieces we have left available jave at we have really interesting, and in some cases unusual markings for tigers eye.
