Rainbow Fluorite grade-A Crystals
Fine-grade rainbow fluorite crystals, beautiful tumbled stones from our collection of rocks and minerals.
Fluorite is known as "the most colourful mineral in the world" due to the many colours in which it occurs. In its purest form, fluorite is colourless but trace impurities of various minerals cause it to change colour.
Colours can be bright and vibrant, but excessive exposure to heat or sunlight can cause them to fade.
The cause of the green colour in fluorite is still not fully understood. Scientists believe it may come from chromium or vanadium but are not certain.
It's worth noting that the colour of fluorite tumbled stones and carvings from China are often enhanced.
Fluorite is a relatively soft and fragile mineral, so it must be handled carefully.
Although classed as 'rainbow fluorite', most tumbled stones that we now have are green or lilac/purple.
These grade-A fluorite tumbled stones are a medium-sized stone. Size may vary slightly from piece to piece.
Please note, with fluorite being such a soft and fragile mineral internal flaws and surface imperfections are not uncommon.
