Peach Aventurine Crystals
Aventurine, also known as aventurine quartz, is composed primarily of the mineral quartz.
Minute inclusions of mica, fuchsite or hematite which are often present can give the stone a glittery appearance. This effect is known as aventurescence.
Aventurescence is caused as light reflects off these minute mineral inclusions. Where present in abundance they can bring about a change in the stone's colour.
The most common colour of aventurine is green, but it also occurs in orange, yellow, red, pink, brown, white, grey and blue.
Although often described as a mineral, aventurine is a rock.
Many stones sold today as aventurine exhibit little or no aventurescence. Finding polished stones that exhibit this characteristic can be difficult.
Peach aventurine is a trade name for a deep reddish-orange coloured stone. The colour comes from the presence of iron oxides.
Our peach aventurine crystals are a larger-size tumbled stone. Size can vary from piece to piece.
