Goldstone Love Hearts
These goldstone love hearts have been beautifully made. In soft ambient light, each stone sparkles incessantly.
Goldstone is an interesting material that is sometimes mistaken for a natural stone.
Although also known as aventurine glass, goldstone and the mineral aventurine have little in common.
Goldstone is produced from glass filled with minute, crystallised copper crystals. Although the stone is best known for its orange-brown colour, it can also be blue and occasionally green.
Although the glass may sometimes be slightly coloured, most of the colour comes from the copper. The spangled or glittery effect is often described as aventurescence.
The quality of goldstone can vary significantly. Lower-grade stones don't tend to be as sparkly.
Copper is not cheap, so using less copper or a different metal can bring the price down but the difference is significant.
