The colour of peridot, which comes from impurities of iron, varies depending on the amount of this chemical element present.
Stones free from inclusions are translucent. Peridot that's heavily included will be partly or fully opaque. The chromium-rich mineral chromite is the most common inclusion.
This peridot is rough stone that has not been processed other than being washed.
