Fluorite Crystal Naturally Translucent
A beautifully translucent fluorite terminated crystal with exceptional zones of colour.
When held up to natural daylight, the true magnificence of this popular mineral can be fully appreciated.
Fluorite is known for its wide range of colours, from rich purples and vibrant greens to deep reds and subtle yellows, often appearing together within the same crystal.
Fluorite's colours come from trace elements like iron, yttrium, and organic material, but some are known to fade when exposed to UV light.
The mineral fluorite is fragile, so must handled carefully. Its perfect cleavage means it can break easily in four directions. Being relatively soft makes it challenging to cut and polish, so minor imperfections in decorative pieces are common.
This fluorite terminated crystal has a glass-like appearance and texture. In our photos, it's being gently illuminated.
