Delicate Green Apatite Crystals
Apatite is soft and brittle, which makes it particularly difficult to facet. For this reason, it's rarely used as a gemstone.
The name originates from the ancient Greek word for 'deceive' or 'to be misled'. This is believed to be because it is difficult to identify apatite correctly.
Apatite crystals occur in several colours. The green variety was once known as Asparagus Stone, although the name is now obsolete.
Boasting a subtle greenish-yellow colour, these rough apatite crystals exhibit a vitreous lustre. They're delicate, so must be handled carefully.
Please bear in mind these crystals are rough and unpolished.
The size of these green apatite crystals varies from piece to piece.
