Blue Topaz Pendant Concave Cut
An elegant blue topaz pendant mounted in a handcrafted sterling silver setting. The bale of the pendant features our own SM hallmark from the London Assay Office.
This sky blue topaz stone has been faceted with a concave cut. This type of cut involves carving facets that curve inwards to scatter more light towards the centre of the gemstone.
Topaz cut in this way is lighter in weight because a considerable amount of material is lost.
Cutting concave facets is labour intensive and complicated but the end result is really impressive. Unfortunately brilliance is not easy to capture well in a photograph.
The blue topaz pendants in our collection have all been crafted by hand.
Despite topaz being one of the hardest natural minerals it's also very fragile. Stones are known to chip or break easily which makes cutting and polishing more difficult.
This sky blue topaz pendant may be purchased with or without one of our Italian made sterling silver snake chains.
