Chrysoprase Crystals Beautifully Polished
Chrysoprase is a green variety of chalcedony, which is a microcrystalline form of quartz.
Its tantalising colour, which comes from impurities of nickel, can vary depending on where the stone was mined.
These chrysoprase tumbled stones were cut from material mined in South Africa. They're a beautiful example of this highly sought after mineral.
We also have chrysoprase from Tanzania.
With our first three photos being on a white background, the stone's colour looks slightly brighter.
The colour of chrysoprase is known to fade if exposed to sunlight for long periods of time.
Fine-grade chrysoprase is sometimes mistaken for Jade.
As with all stones produced in a rock tumbler, shapes and sizes vary from piece to piece. These chrysoprase tumbled stones are classed as large, but are more like a large medium.
