Blue Beryl Tumbled Stones Small Sizes
Blue beryl crystals in small sizes. As with all tumbled stones produced in a rock tumbler, size does vary from piece to piece.
Blue beryl as a gemstone is not particularly well known in its own right. Gem-grade blue beryl is aquamarine.
Unless classified as "gem-grade", blue beryl should simply be known as blue beryl but it's often labelled as aquamarine. The same applies to emerald which is green beryl.
The blue colour is caused by impurities of iron.
The bluer shades of aquamarine tend to be more popular than green but naturally this colour is relatively rare. For this reason the vast majority of aquamarine is heat treated.
Other varieties of beryl include emerald whose colour is caused by chromium, morganite which occurs in various shades of pink and the incredibly rare red beryl.
In its purest form beryl is colourless.
These small blue beryl tumbled stones have been beautifully polished which makes them wonderfully tactile.
