Recognised for its deep, greyish-green colour, this natural stone often features red markings caused by iron oxides, primarily hematite.
Some online sources describe Seftonite as a brecciated chalcedony with pyrite inclusions, but after extensive research, I can find no geological data that supports this claim.
Seftonite lacks formal scientific analysis, which is often the case for rocks and minerals commonly used in lapidary work or valued for their metaphysical properties.
The size of these Seftonite or African Bloodstone crystals varies from piece to piece. Some are quite small, while others are on the larger side of medium.
