Mookaite, an Australian Jasper, is a colourful stone mined on private land in Western Australia.
Although usually pronounced 'mookite', the correct pronunciation should be 'mooka-ite because it's named after Mooka Creek where the stone is found.
Like many varieties of Jasper, Mookaite is used primarily for decorative purposes.
