Labradorite Stone - Incredibly Iridescent
So many amazing colours can be seen as this labradorite stone reflects light.
Just the front face has been polished.
Labradorite, a popular variety of feldspar, was discovered in 1770. The stone takes its name from the location where it was discovered. Labrador is the most easterly province of Canada.
The colours we see in labradorite are the reflection of light. This iridescence, also known as schiller or labradorescence, is best seen as light hits the stone at sharp angles.
A truly spectacular piece of labradorite, carefully chosen for our collection of rocks and minerals.
