Raw Iron Pyrite Mineral
Pyrite, also known as iron pyrite and fool's gold, is an iron sulphide mineral composed of iron and sulphur.
Its distinctive metallic lustre and brassy-yellow hue give it a similar appearance to gold. However, pyrite is considerably harder and not as yellow.
This raw pyrite mineral features distinctive striations, which are natural growth patterns formed as the crystal develops.
Striations occur due to periodic variations in the crystal’s growth, often linked to twinning or structural shifts. These parallel lines create a distinctive groove-like texture.
