Tiger Iron Cabochon Gemstones
A collection of the finest-grade, tiger iron cabochon gemstones. Each stone has been beautifully polished.
Tiger Iron is a distinctive metamorphic rock composed of alternating layers of tigers eye, hematite, and red jasper. It's often mistaken for tigers eye, but they're two different stones.
Tiger iron forms through the metamorphism of banded iron formations, where silica-rich and iron-rich layers are transformed under heat and pressure.
Although these formations can be found in several locations around the world, only stone from Western Australia is correctly known as tiger iron.
These premium-grade cabochon gemstones boast rich colour, distinctive markings and are particularly suitable for use in jewellery.
Please Note
1. (TICB-1) May benefit from additional polishing around the lower sides of the stone. This won't be necessary if the stone is being mounted. It also has a very small indentation on the underside, which could, if required, be polished out
2. (TICB-9) Has a natural indentation which could be polished out. The mark is
significantly more noticeable in our photo due to our zoom lens and lighting.
