Long, Bladed Kyanite Crystal with Quartz
The mineral kyanite is known for its distinctive blue colour. It's a silicate mineral composed of aluminium and silica (aka silicon dioxide).
Kyanite often forms long, slender crystals, also known as "blades." Some crystals are pleochroic meaning they can change colour depending on the angle of light in which they're being viewed.
Kyanite also has a different hardness across the length and width of the same crystal.
This rough kyanite bladed crystal comes from Brazil.
