Rough Turquoise from Madagascar
Three raw turquoise stones from Madagascar with exceptional colour.
Turquoise is a relatively soft and fragile mineral that, if not well cared for, is prone to fading and cracking.
It's porous and sensitive to heat, but in direct sunlight, the colour is generally stable.
Pollutants in the atmosphere, including perfumes, hairsprays, and moisture from the skin (mainly from fingertips), can leave marks. Turquoise does not respond well to being cleaned and should not be allowed to get wet.
These rough turquoise stones have been coated with a very fine, colourless resin for protection.
They were bought a few years ago during a buying trip to one of our suppliers in South Africa. These are the last three pieces available.
