Blue Topaz Cocktail Ring
A captivating Sky Blue Topaz cocktail ring designed in a handcrafted sterling silver setting.
The type of cut, known as concave, features long, narrow facets that reflect light outwards from the centre of the stone.
This enhances brilliance and creates an illusion of depth. However, concave cuts are not popular with stone cutters because they require skill, take time to complete and there's significant wastage.
Topaz is difficult to cut because, although a relatively hard stone, it's also fragile. It chips, fractures, and splits easily, complicating the faceting process.
This Sky Blue Topaz ring has a slightly chunkier design. The setting measures 1.4 x 1.2 x 0.8 centimetres. From top to bottom, the ring is 2.8 centimetres. The ring weighs 7.2 grams and the stone is 1.5 carats. The size is two millimetres larger than a UK size N.
