Banded (Chevron) Amethyst Crystals
Grade A banded amethyst crystals from South Africa. Although known as banded amethyst in the United Kingdom, this stone tends to be known as chevron amethyst in many other parts of the world.
Banded amethyst features alternating layers of amethyst and milky quartz.
The layers, which typically form sharp or curved V-shaped patterns, give the stone a unique appearance. The contrast between the deep purple amethyst and white quartz has made this stone popular with rock and mineral collectors.
These grade-A banded amethyst crystals are classed as a medium-sized tumbled stone. Size can vary from piece to piece so we've split them into small and medium.
