Its striking colour comes from impurities of nickel. The shade of green can vary depending on where the stone is mined.
These chrysoprase tumbled stones are from Tanzania. We also have chrysoprase from South Africa, which is a much richer shade of green.
The colour of chrysoprase can fade when exposed to UV light for long periods.
Due to its colour, chrysoprase is sometimes mistaken for jade.
As with all stones produced in a rock tumbler, size can vary from piece to piece. These chrysoprase crystals are a larger tumbled stone.
