Leopardskin Jasper Tumbled Stones
Striking leopardskin jasper crystals tumbled from stone mined in Chihuahua, northwest Mexico.
Leopardskin jasper is a trade name for what is actually orbicular rhyolite. Rhyolite and jasper are different stones. Unfortunately, trade names are often misleading or inaccurate when it comes to the geological composition of a stone.
'Orbicular' refers to the stone's orb-like or spherical markings. Rhyolite is a volcanic igneous rock.
The colours in leopardskin jasper vary from lighter shades of brown to deep reds and often include shades of orange.
Our leopardskin jasper crystals are a medium tumbled stone but size can vary from piece to piece. We also have leopardskin jasper in larger sizes.
