Leopardskin Jasper Pendant
A slightly larger Leopardskin Jasper pendant crafted by hand in a simple sterling silver setting.
This variety of jasper was named for its similarity to the skin of the big cat by the same name.
Leopardskin Jasper is a trade name for what is actually an orbicular jasper.
This colourful stone comes primarily from Chihuahua in Mexico.
Although finely polished, the orange colour in this natural gemstone has a subtle faded appearance.
When photographing this Leopardskin Jasper pendant, I've tried to use minimal lighting because, with stronger lights, the colours appear far richer than they actually are.
