Green Quartz Crystals aka Prase
Finely polished green quartz crystals carefully chosen for our collection.
Although sometimes believed to be the same stone, green quartz is different to green aventurine.
Green quartz was originally used to describe a dull, leek-green-coloured quartzite.
Green quartz was correctly known as Prase.
Over the years, the term 'green quartz' started being used for a variety of green stones, many of which are not Prase.
Prasiolite is another green variety of quartz, but due to its rarity, the vast majority is produced by heating amethyst. It's often referred to as green amethyst, which is a misnomer.
The colour of these green quartz crystals, which is natural, is caused by inclusions of green minerals within the crystal's structure. I'm not certain whether they're Prase or another type of green quartz.
These green quartz crystals are a medium tumbled stone but as with all tumbled stones produced in a rock tumbler, size does vary from piece to piece.
