Royal-blue sodalite crystals with striking orange inclusions. Originally called "orange sodalite," this stone has recently acquired the trade name Sunset Sodalite.
While feldspar is often credited as the source of the orange colour, I haven’t found any definitive evidence that confirms that. The colour may well come from inclusions of feldspar but could also be due to calcite or a result of staining or oxidation.
We also have sodalite crystals included with white calcite, and grade A sodalite tumbled stones, which are virtually inclusion free.
A distinctive and beautifully polished Sunset Sodalite crystal. These stones are a medium-size tumbled stone. Size varies considerably, so we've split them into small and medium.
